  • Hello everyone!

Well I am so excited to join this group! I was on Atkins once before a few years back and had great success, but then once I hit my goal weight I thought well I can control the amount of food I eat and get off Atkins and be fine...well that lasted for a few months and then I slowly started my old eating habits again. I'm starting over fresh, and know that I will have to follow the OWL after induction and change my lifestyle and eating habits for good. I am going to the Marine Corps Ball in mid-Nov, my ultimate goal is 30 pounds by then, but I'd be happy with 15. I'm really excited to see my progress over time. I'm excited to meet new people and get inspiration from them and hope that one day I can be an inspiration to someone else.

        Re: Hello everyone!

Welcome!! I recently restarted again. A bit older than you are but we're in the same height / weight range.

You can do it!! Everyone is here to support each other. Lots of outlooks and ideas to share. The decision to do something and actually DOING it is a great start, if you ask me :0)

        Rock on!

          Re: Hello everyone!

Hi and welcome back to Atkins Rachel --

Regardless of what you did before, or what people are doing now, your body is different than anyone so it’s best not to compare what happened before or what's happening with others. Look around and find what interests you and join in. Check the STAC Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet for additional support.

You kno the plan works and hopefully you'll follow it the way it was written -- Have you already purchased the 2002 DANDR book and have read it? If not it's worth a few dollars to purchase one (with shipping mine was about $5.00 on www.amazon.com – or try www.half.com). Get enough pure water in daily (64oz is recommended), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin.

The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out! Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily.
