  • A Grand Adventure.

Hi my name is Stephanie and tomorrow will be my first day on Atkins. I currently weigh 280lbs and am 5'1'' so imagine an oompa loompa. LOL I've decided the time has come to finally do something. I have NEVER been this heavy before, although I have struggled with my weight most of my life. I have a beautiful 20 month old son who I just can't keep up with. He deserves a mom that can run and jump and have the energy and stamina to play with him. I also don't want to become victim to diabetes or heart disease. I want to live. I want to see my son graduate, get married. I want to shop in the women's and misses section. I want to feel good in my own skin again. So here is to a new beginning and a fresh start.

    Current Weight
    280 lbs.

    Goal Weight
    135lbs.
Best of luck in all your endeavors,
    Stephanie

Welcome to the Atkins Board Stephanie.

You know the reason you want to loose weight, now it's time to make it a reality. Make sure you drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise starting today and taking a multi-vitamin. If you haven't already, read the 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR).

Eat the foods on the acceptable food list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html
and find wonderful recipes here: just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with. Vary your meals so you don't get tired of eating the same thing over and over -- we have too many choices for that to happen.

Breakfast this morning will be a 2 egg omelet with about 2 tbsp. of shredded cheddar cheese, sauteed mushrooms, peppers, onions, and spinach. Yummers.

Sounds great. I eat egg scrambles most days for breakfast.

                  Re: A Grand Adventure.

So thought I would just drop a line about how my first day is going. I had an omelet for breakfast. A turkey wrap for lunch minus the tortilla of course, so I pretty much just used romaine as the wrapper with mayo, turkey, havarti, and a slice of tomato. I also did 20 min. on my eliptical and have had about 36 oz of water so far. I think for my first day it's a good start.
