  • lost again!

    I had been drinking a diet coke here and ther never a whole can! Is this ok? It says no carbs etc!!!
    Also i am down 9 pnds since last mon the 15th i think. And well i am lost i been eating meets and cheese and atkins bars 4 snacks! Is it possible to lose the weight i want another 40 pnds by my goal date which is end of oct?

    Just wondering! Being that i lost 9 pnds in 9 days is that the amount i may lose in a week all the way thru or is it going to vary?
    Ii know our bodies are all diff im just wondering about that!
    As well as when i get down to my goal weight will i have that hanging skin? What does anyone suggest 4 a workout routine? I have a treadmill i hear 30 mins 3 days a week is ok anyone have any advice etc????
    Also any sweet recipes? I need sumthing sweet i love the bars and tring to be careful on them yet i cant handle not having a sweet now and again! Sumone plz let me know very lost!

    Hi Shalisa
    Welcome. Glad you are posting here. Is this an introduction or is it a question you may have wanted to post in a forum - like the induction forum perhaps. I can move it there if you like.

    Is it OK to drink diet Coke?
    The answer is probably not. Atkins tells us to avoid caffeine and aspartame both of which are in the diet coke.

    Meat (or eggs, fish, poultry) and veggies are what you should eat. If you read the rules that is what they say. Cheese you should not eat too much of and Atkins bars are only for emergency.

    For exercise I suggest - whatever you can do. Threadmill is good but you may want to do some weight lifting or/and exercise for toning and flexibility as well.

    I think you are already eating too much sweets. You need to break this dependency. Try to cut it out.

    You are allowed three artificial sweeteners a day (bars are stuffed with sweeteners - so you use up your ration with those quickly)

    I hope that helps. Keep reading the stickies so that you know what the rules are. And if you have not checked out Atkins' book, do so.

      Thank you sooooooo much darn i thought i was doing ok to lose 9 pnds lol! Ok no more soda as well as sweets i havent had any other sweets at all just the bars here and ther and yey love it was emergencys lol!
      Also how the heck do i get my ticker to work on my site i did it all the way up to cutting and now where do i paste it?

        Welcome to the Atkins Board.


        Make sure you drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise starting today and taking a multi-vitamin. If you haven't already, read the 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR).

        Eat the foods on the acceptable food list

          I use ticker factory, at the end of all the choices and forms it will show your ticker with HTML in the address. Go into profile and look for the place to edit your signature, just paste the HTML address into the place for a signature and it should show up.
          Also everytime I try to have a bar or a shake or buy something from a deli I find myself having problems. If I stick to real food I made myself all is fine. Everything else gives me trouble. But there is a list of places that have lowcarb meals for people to eat if they have to eat out. I believe its in the food section. I have went out, had the low carb and gained from the salt and diet coke! Its just water but still disturbing.



          My starting weight was 235 lbs and I'm trying to get to 130 lbs.

          1st mini goal: 145! met 12/09
          2nd mini goal: 140!
          3rd mini goal:135!
          4th mini goal: 130!

          I drink coffee. I drink when I am thirsty. I am just a low carber. Not on Atkins at all!!! He has everything to do with my weightloss and nothing to do with it, depending on who you ask.

            Thanks you all so much i am steered in the right direction! I feel a lil off today and yesterday as far as like jittery and dizzy alil bit off balance. It comes and gos all tho the 4 cups of coffe i had may have had sumthing to do with it lol! Is coffe ok? O heck ill just buy the book lol thank you all 4 the support!!!

              You should drink decaf - caffeine isn't really the best thing you can drink...also make sure you get enough water....64 ounces minimum (pure water, nothing added) daily.
