Hello everybody. I'm Luis. I'm Mexican, but I live in the US. I weight 217 lb, and my goal is to weight 167 lb. I knew about Atkins in a seduction forum. I have been fat from a long time, it has given me insecurity problems; and insecurity problems have given me problems with women. Now I'm happy because I'm loosing weight and I can eat whenever I'm hungry. I have read less than the half of the Atkins book. I'm an university student, and I have to read my college books too. I follow the basic idea of eating less than 20g of carbs per day. I have followed the diet for 3 weeks, and everything has gone perfect. When I started I weighted 224.4, so I have lost 7 pounds without any sacrifice. I will keep going with the diet and I hope this forum can answer some of my doubts about the diet.

Re: Hello... I'm Luis!!
Welcome to the Atkins Board.
I hope you read the 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) as soon as possible, it’s the book we follow on this bulletin board. There is so much more in the book that helps us understand what this is all about and the science behind it.
Make sure you drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise starting today and taking a multi-vitamin. Check all around the board for everything there is to, there is a challenge section with both exercise and non exercise challenges, Rate My Menu for help with your food, journaling – there is something for everyone
Make a copy of this list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html and take it with you when you go to the store. If a food isn’t listed on the acceptable food list you shouldn't be eating it. Learn to read the label on all foods you buy - don’t just look at the “carb” number look at the ingredients list of everything and check the ingredients against your list. Just because it says "low carb" doesn't mean you can eat it. Also check for hidden sugars (learn the names used in place of the word “sugar”).
The recipe sites are helpful for meal planning – just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.
