  • Second time around, and then I found this support forum... HI!

Hello there. This is my second time doing Atkins, the previous time I went from being a size 16-18 (after my son was born) to a size 12-14 (170-180lbs)... but I now have made up my mind to take up Atkins again and reach my goal of 150-155lbs or rather a size 8.

I am a 37 yr old mother of one, 5'7" tall and have always been a little over weight, my thighs have always been my biggest challenge but since I've gottne older and after the baby its a bit of my stomach, bum and lower waist.

Ive tried doing the so called nutritionist diets and its just not for me, I have had no problem following atkins since Im not too crazy about pastas, sugars and flours. Any tips would be greatly appreciated, and I will be lurking so I can sign up on the challenges.

My biggest advice would be - come out of lurkdom. Join in and share and encourage others. It is a great way to stay motivated. It is good to be part of a community.
Look forward to see you in the challenges. I will be do quite a few of them again. I am thinking of starting a new one - workout video one.

OK... I promise to be active, I had a nice lunch, fish with cilantro sauce, a nice salad and steamed veggies. So far so good.

Hi and welcome back to Atkins --

Regardless of what you did before, or what people are doing now, your body is different than anyone so it’s best not to compare. Look around and find what interests you and join in, as everyone has already said, the more you are part of this site the more help it is on a daily basis. Check the STAC Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet for additional support.

The plan works when you follow it the way it was written -- make sure you get enough pure water in daily (64oz is recommended), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin.

The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out! Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily.
