  • Hello And God Bless!

    Hello All,

I am new to the forum and excited about getting started. I have some apprehension but I think that I can do it. I look forward to reading all of the success stories, the support and encouragement.

    God bless,

    Re: Hello And God Bless!

Hello lark and welcome. There is no need to be apprehensive. Just commit to finishing the Induction weeks cleanly and don't allow yourself to get hungry.Nibble on allowed foods. One bit of advice is to have a lot of raw veggies cut and prepared in your fridge for emergencies. My favorites are red and green pepper slices, cucumber (I don't preslice those), and green beans. Remember carrots are not allowed in Induction-many folks don't realize it is high in sugar. Also have tuna salad pre made and boil up a dozen eggs. These are quick grabs when you want a snack NOW!

Above all, get and read the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution book so you will know how and why you are doing as you do during Induction.

Last, but not least, drink a lot of water and stay off the scale for a week at a time. I generally weigh in on Sunday mornings, but if weekends tend to be tough for you, maybe Friday morning makes more sense. Either way you should know that weight loss is not linear---you will bob up and down due to many factors; water retention, water in muscles if you exercise, hormonal changes (Time of Month, Menopause) and sometimes your body just doesnt want to cooperate on the scale. So relax, weigh less, and focus on doing the program, not on the results.

Also know we are here to cheer you on and give you as much info as we can based on Dr A and our own experience.

It's not about the results. Its about the process.
