Actually, it is. Assuming one counts it as cheese. The limit on cheese is 3-4 oz per day.

    From DANDR 2002, Ch. 11:
Imitation cheese products are not allowed, except for soy and rice cheese---but check the carbohydrate content.

I'm not sure.... I know Megs (not2late) posted this a while ago: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ons-pizza.html

I haven't tried it though. No idea if it would work for burgers.

Personally, I'd use Revolution Rolls for buns. The recipe for Revolution Rolls is in this thread: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...pes-added.html

I don't know how to make tofu into buns but I make revolution rolls to go with burgers sometimes.

(The Original) Basic Diet Revolution Rolls
Straight from the 1972 Dr. Atkins Diet Revolution book
        Makes 6 rolls

        Pam spray
        3 eggs separated
        1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
3 tablespoons mayo or cream cheese
        1 package of Sweetener

        1. Preheat oven to 300°F.
        2. Separate eggs very carefully (make sure that none of the yolk gets into the whites.)
        3. Spray Pam on a Teflon cookie sheet.**
        4. Beat egg whites with cream of tartar until whites are stiff but not dry.
        5. Fold in yolks, mayo (or cheese) and sweetener(Be extremely careful not to break down the egg whites. Mix for no more than 1 minute.)
        6. Place the mixture carefully on the Teflon cookie sheet, gently putting one tablespoon full on top of another until each “roll” is about 2 inches high. Repeat this until you have 6 piles.
        7. Place the cookie sheet in the oven and bake for about 1 hour.****

Heh.. Think of it as "choice" without the "ce" and "tram" It's an Indian name, so the 'h' is there just to confuse you

Target is the same, progress is okay.. I'm still motivated, but I feel that it's time to start exercising. I'm having a hard time sorting out what to eat and what not to eat, etc. I'm finding the whole thing too complicated to be honest.

What I would like is if I can find someone to pay who can put together a meal plan, with where I can buy things, etc. I'm not very good at finding 'equivalents'. You look at some of these recipes and it would say, "English cucumber"... I know this is not a big deal, but looking for seedless cucumbers is a task in itself and I'm a simple guy.. so I just make an omelet and some tomatoes and I'm done. I'm starting to worry about my cholesterol levels with all the eggs I'm consuming.

Aside from that, my pants feel loose, etc. Next week, I'll be reporting in my weight (I think peer pressure is a good motivator).

                You?

                    Re: Greetings from Dubai

To be honest with you I had the best cholesterol results ever after eating 2 eggs and bacon every day for 2 years! It was the sugar consumption that was throwing off my body's cholesterol production and Atkins actually improved all my numbers. However, my numbers took a jump up initially--but they came down later with no siguar in the diet and regular exercise.

                      Re: Greetings from Dubai

Bacon! That's what I've been missing. Grabbed some from the store and completely forgot to get the cream of tartar for the wraps

My appetite is starting to slowly decrease, so I'm glad. When I'm busy, I think less about eating and lately it's been pretty busy. That's good for me so far, though I'm scared of what would happen when I have time off.

I know coffee is bad, but it's not something I can give up (or want to). I drink it black without sugar or any type of sweetener.. so should be fine? I'll drop it if the weight loss stalls to see if it makes a difference.

                        Re: Greetings from Dubai

That's great that the appetite suppressant factor is kicking in. Many people lose very successfully while drinking coffee so you should be fine waiting to see what happens.

Make sure when you have time off you don't just sit around. Go walk the beach or head to the gold souk (sp) or do something crazy like a day at Wild Wadi or even the real thing. But I can tell you from experience--if you park on the couch you WILL want to eat so unless you have the makings for pizza tops and buffalo wings in the house to satiate the munch mechanism then get out of the house and do something else.

I have an easy solution for that. I just go buy from the "Non-Muslim" section. All the ham and whatnot that's pre-packaged comes with all the nutrition facts (since it wasn't specifically made for this region). I shop at Spinney's mostly, so I'm not sure if Carrefour have a pork section or not.

Cool.. I'll continue to guzzle my black coffee then I had an omelet today and almost couldn't finish it! That's just 2 eggs, half a small tomato and some onions. I am, however, drinking a lot more water than I normally do. I find that odd actually, since I'm not forcing myself to do it. I just get really thirsty. I know i'm not dehydrated because judging from the color of my urine, I'm way hydrated even. Remains a mystery to me, but an welcome one!

When I'm sitting home doing nothing I just try to munch on anything that has 0 carbs.. but I also want to watch my caloric intake because I think I'm way way way overweight and I also want to lose 5lbs a week. So far, it's going faster than that, but it always does when you first start. I'm waiting to see how long it'll be before it stalls (hopefully never).

I pigged out last night I came back home around 7.. starved. Fried a couple eggs and threw in some ham cold cuts in there for good measure. At it. Then got up again and made another batch of fried eggs (3 this time) and ate it.

I felt bloated and I don't know why I did that. I'm so mad at myself. I just don't know what to do when I get soooooo hungry. I was feeling that my appetite was decreasing but I don't know what happened last night.

what do I do when this happen?
