  • New here - induction day 4

Hi everyone I am a 22 year old female and started Atkins on Sunday after seeing my aunt get some great results. I am on day 4 and have already lost 4 lbs. Should I be worried that I'm losing a pound a day so far? I probably have about 40ish lbs to lose.

    Starting weight: 175 lbs
    Goal Weight: 135 lbs

Stay on Induction for the full two weeks. After that your losses wil slow somewhat but since you don't have lots to lose and you are young, I would suggest you go directly to OWL. It will teach you how to add carbs without upsetting the losses and will help you discover the trigger foods that derail you in the long term. Some of mine are rice, peanuts, and berries (I have portion control issues with them)
      JILL

      HW 298
      HW (this time) 248
      GOAL ONE 228
      (take 2)
      GOAL TWO 213 (personal goal)
      GOAL THREE 199 ONE-DERLAND
      FINAL GOAL 165

It's not about the results. Its about the process.

        Welcome to the Atkins Board.

I agree since you don't have much to loose you move right on to OWL (ongoing weight loss) after your 2 week induction.

Make sure you drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise starting today and take a multi-vitamin. If you haven't already, read the 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR).

Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - eat enough vegetables - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily.
Many of us use www.Fitday.com to track our food so we know what our carb totals are for the day. It's important you know what you are eating and how many carbs you are taking in each day.
