  • Hi everyone...I'm new

    HI all,
My name is Rosie and I'm NEW. I started induction about 6 days ago and am not seeing the scale budge an ounce, nor have i seen any change in measurements. I have don Atkins in the past with fantastic results right from the first day..and perhaps I;m expecting too much. I'm eating the right foods..although I'm not sure about the peanut butter I had 2tbs of the other night??
please help give me some ideas..
    my usual menu is
scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast, salad for lunch and usually hamburger with cheese and salad for dinner. I did have a sugar free jello also.
oh I do have coffee. I know I'm supposed to have caffeine free but I love my caffeine is there anyway that I could have one a day instead of having to give it all up???
    thanks in advance you guys

      Re: Hi everyone...I'm new

Hi Rosie, Every time start back I get a different result and generally it is slower each time. Once we hit our 40s it goes down to a snail's pace. I am finishing my 4th day of Induction and I have been exercising and using fitday. My only "cheat" is one cup of coffee in the a.m. and I don't use any sweeteners in pretty much anything. My loss so far? One pound.

Each time you do this your body is going to react differently and with more resistance than the previous time. Be patient and hang in there. Stay off the scale till the 2 weeks are up. Thats the best advice I can give you.

It's not about the results. Its about the process.

        Re: Hi everyone...I'm new

        Hi
thank you both for your posts. I think I NEED to give up the second cup of coffee and just go to decaf~ good idea to stay off the scales I'm a bit of a slave to it I fear!, thanks Jill for the great advice, really made me feel better, and not want to throw in the towel already. I do think without realizing I've been using more than the 20g carbs each day so I need to be better in tune with the carbs.
I feel re-newed lol but thank you both for answering and believe me I will be on this board many many times in the future

          Hi Rosie --

Peanut butter isn't allowed until you go to OWL (ongoing weight loss) and are on Rung 3. Also, sugar free jello stops some people from loosing so you may want to stop eating it. Also, are you getting enough fat in each day?

Are you drinking enough pure water? The minimum is 64 ounces (nothing added except ice) daily according to the 2002 DANDR book. Also, what exercises have you been doing? Exercise on Atkins is mandatory.

Check the STAC Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet for additional support.

The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out. Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)(What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily.

              Re: Hi everyone...I'm new

              hi
thanks for the hints, you know i had a feeling peanut butter wasn't allowed ! and I've stopped having jello. I actually don't think I've been having enough fat, but yes I do drink enough water, i've always been a good water drinker, but since my last post I've actually dropped 2lbs wooohoo!! so I feel re-motivated. thank you ALL so much for your help I will be asking a ton more questions though..and I;ve gotten quite a few good recipes to try.. I do have the book but I have to be honest and say I've only skimmed it BUT I will sit down and read it now
              thanks so much
              have a great weekend
