  • Hi There

Hello everyone! My name is Tena & I decided to start the Atkins diet today. Not only do I want to look good but I want to feel good too. I am a fine dining server and run around on the floor alot and have noticed I do not have the energy I use to have running after customers requests...AGHH. I love horses and enjoy riding and grooming them. I have recently gotten divorced . Actually, Ive been divorced a year . I am 35 pounds overweight and would like to be back at 145 lbs. Im excited to start Atkins ...actually I started this am and feel good so far.......

Well , Im not really sure what else to say...so I will hopefully get a chance to talk with you all later.

Hi Tena, If you have not yet read the 2002 DANDR then you should because it is very helpful and saves you making mistakes that show on the scale. Sounds like you are making a fresh start and this is a great place to do it. This board is supportive and full of good information to help you along your way.

Welcome to the Atkins Board Tena.

Make sure you drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise starting today and take a multi-vitamin.

The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out! Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - eat enough vegetables - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily.
Many of us use www.Fitday.com to track our food so we know what our carb totals are for the day. It's important you know what you are eating and how many carbs you are taking in each day.

Any and all questions can and will be answered - all you have to do is ask!! Good luck.
