  • Hiya from the UK

    Hi my name is Mick

I am currently on the Atkins diet AGAIN!! I have been on before and had great success losing about 4 stone (this was a few years ago) but I fell off the wagon and went back to my old ways of pizza and beer so now 2 stone heavier again, I have decided I do it and then stay fit forever. None of us are getting any younger. I have also started exercising more too, so hopefully I should be back in shape in no time lol

I look forward to reading some of your posts

    cheers

    Mick

    Re: Hiya from the UK

Hello Mick and welcome! You will be pleased to know that Atkins will work the second time around. Unfortunately, the older we get the slower it comes off. We have a lot of UK members and we also have a Second Time Around Club in the Support forum. Also you are very welcome to join in on our exercise challenges. I run the Push Up challenge if you are game to to step up.

    HW (this time) 248
    GOAL ONE 228
    (take 2)
    GOAL TWO 213 (personal goal)
    GOAL THREE 199 ONE-DERLAND
    FINAL GOAL 165

It's not about the results. Its about the process.

Hi and welcome back to Atkins --

Regardless of what you did before, or what people are doing now, your body is different than anyone so it’s best not to compare - just follow the plan the way it's written. Look around and find what interests you and join in. Check here for the Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet Jill mentioned above.

I hope you already have the 2002 DANDR book and have read it, it is the edition we follow on this site. If not it's worth a few dollars to purchase. Get enough pure water in daily (64oz is recommended), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin.

The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out! Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)(What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily.

If you need anything we’re here to help you!! Good luck.
