    Hello,

    My name is Stoli Anoj, I'm 39 years old and 40lbs over weight. I'm addicted to caffeine and carbohydrates. Yes - Addicted, just like someone addicted to a narcotic. I have tried other diets but none of them have addressed my real issue, I don't lack will power - I have an addiction. I know this to be true because the first three days of induction, with zero caffeine and limited carbs - I thought I was going to DIE. I laid on the floor with massive headaches and body shakes. People tell me to ease of caffeine slowly but that’s like telling an alcoholic to get better by just drinking less.

    Today marks the end of my fist week, the headaches are gone, I sleep better at night and I’ve lost 9lbs.

    I’m here to get encouragement from the members so I can stick with it.

    Welcome, and congratulations on the no caffeine!

    I hope by "limited carbs" you don't mean you're eating less than you should be on Induction.

      I'm glad you made it through the first week and are feeling better. Congrats on the 9 lbs loss! This way of life (WOE) is easy to stick to once you get the hang of it because of all the great food that's allowed so I'm sure you will make your goal. Keep us posted on your progress.

        Welcome to the Atkins Board.

        Getting through the "induction flu" you'll start feeling much better and have more energy now. It's tough but most everyone goes through the withdrawl. In place of full lead coffee find a decaf you like and have a cup occasionally -- or decaf tea is always nice also. Great job of weight loss so far!


        Make sure you drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise starting today and take a multi-vitamin. If you haven't already, read the 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR).


        The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out! Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - eat enough vegetables - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily.
        Many of us use www.Fitday.com to track our food so we know what our carb totals are for the day. It's important you know what you are eating and how many carbs you are taking in each day.
