  • New~Hello!!

This is my first time in a weight loss forum, but after reading all the support pages, it's people like you all who get where you want to be and motivate others at the same time. Thank you.
I am 29- years old and 5'5, I've been struggling with weight loss for many years. I began my weight loss transition since Decemeber 2007, it's been a slow loss, but I've kept it off. I began at a size 16-weighing 194 pounds. During this time, I was under going a separation, so maybe the heart ache helped speed it up
Today, I'm weighing 164, I'm in between sizes 10-12. I need to loose an additional 20 pounds to reach my goal.I look forward to your advice.

    Sincerely,

    Gizy

      Re: New~Hello!!

Hi and welcome. So, what did you do to lose the first 30 odd pounds? Why are you switching now? Just curious. Have you read the 2002 DANDR book yet? It helps explain a lot.

      HW 298
      HW (this time) 248
      GOAL ONE 228
      (take 2)
      GOAL TWO 213 (personal goal)
      GOAL THREE 199 ONE-DERLAND
      FINAL GOAL 165

It's not about the results. Its about the process.

        Welcome to the Atkins Board.

Make sure you drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise starting today and take a multi-vitamin. If you haven't already, read the 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR). Since you don't have much to loose go through the 2 week induction, then move on to OWL (ongoing weight loss) and start adding foods back so you'll know what you can eat and what food bother you. Atkins is a lifestyle not a diet.

The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out! Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - eat enough vegetables - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily.
Many of us use www.Fitday.com to track our food so we know what our carb totals are for the day. It's important you know what you are eating and how many carbs you are taking in each day.

Any and all questions can and will be answered - all you have to do is ask!! Good luck.
