  • It's me... New Girl

Okay...so I was on this diet years ago. I remember loving it. So when my fiance said he wanted to do the Atkins Diet, I was super excited. But I just can't get into the enthusiasm that I had before. It doesn't seem to be going as smoothly as it once did...it is more tough this time around. I am glad that I found this site...I really need the extra support.
Okay, so a little about me: I am 25 years old and I am currently attending the community college. I live in a small town but have city desires. I share my life with the most perfect guy ever. I miss the body I had before him though. I have always been heavier, but I used to feel sexy...I miss that...

    Welcome!

Every time you start a new "diet", it's harder for your body to adapt to the change. So ... it will never be like "last time".

That's why Atkins done right is a lifestyle change ... so that you never have to lose the weight again.

Don't forget to reread your copy of DANDR 2002, drink all your water, and ask any questions you might have!

Hey new girl! I'm new also and could really relate to your story. Even at 135 freaking lbs I was described as "heavy set ," but felt really comfortable in my own skin. Don't expect to get back there. Just want to be healthier!

I look forward to hearing about your progress! Sending encouragement vibes your way ...

Hope you are hanging in there. Some times we need to be super motivated. Try to keep your goal in mind and stick to it. This time you have a partner to do it with. That is pretty special.

Hey new Girl, hang tough -- it will be a little slower this time but it will work! I bet as soon as those inches atert to come off you will get your sexy back. DO take measurements too, sometimes the scale doesn't move but the tape will!

              YOU CAN DO THIS!

We are glad to see you wanting to make the change and you will!
you will love this lifestyle, and i think we can all understand the whole being excited part... its not that exciting at first, but when you see the pounds melting away then it will work!

i recommend while you are taking your classes to see if they offer like a fitness walking class. i took one of those a few years back in college myself and was amazed and even now i find myself using some of the techniques that they taught in that class!

              good luck and keep going!

Hi and welcome back to Atkins --

Regardless of what you did before, or what people are doing now, your body is different than anyone so it’s best not to compare - just follow the plan the way it's written. Look around and find what interests you and join in. Check the STAC Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet for additional support.

I hope you already have the 2002 DANDR book and have read it, it is the edition we follow on this site. If not it's worth a few dollars to purchase. Get enough pure water in daily (64oz is recommended), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin.

The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out! Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)(What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily.
