  • Losing It!

Hi there. I am new to the Board though not new to the Diet. I have been on Atkins for 11 months with a few 'sabatical' weekends (a big no-no, but trying to be honest here). I started at 312 lbs. I am currently weighing 256. I am 34 years old and a single mother of 5 year old twins. I must admit it gets easier as time goes by but the weight does not come off as easy either. I am also working out. Around 1-2 hours a day, 6 times a week.. So I'm trying my best to finally lose the weight I need to lose. I have been heavy my whole life. Been on diets since I was about 13 years old. Its been a tough journey but I am hanging in there..

    Welcome twinsrus.
Two five year old sounds wonderful. I can feel the energy just thinking about it. My daughter is a teen - they have negative energy at that point (but i still love her)

    Congratulations on your losses.

Have you tried climbing OWL and seeing if adding more veggies helps with losses and exercise and stuff. It sounds like things are going great though. You are losing and bet so much healthier now than when you started. Great job.

        Re: Losing It!

hi and welcome! Sounds you're on the right track. Congrats on the weight loss so far!

I'm a slow loser too but have been discovering that many of the reasons for the slow loss and falling off program was because I wasn't following the book or diet right. (It works, it really does!). It really is a learning (and re-learning progress).

        Hope to see you around!

The best thing you can do is introduce yourself and post what you have been eating since you started --- put the amounts of everything you are eating as well as fats, proteins & vegetables. You should be eating 20 net carbs daily -- NOT staying "completely" away from carbs.....

              Re: Losing It!

              Welcome to the Atkins Board.

It sounds like you have been doing real well (albeit the bad weekends) --- the advise I can give is: Make sure you drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise and take a multi-vitamin.

If you haven't re-read the 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) you should - I'm in the "Read The Book" challenge and believe me it's been an eyeopener!

The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out! Don't forget your vegetables
              .

The recipe sites are great for keeping your meals fresh. Check them out.

Any and all questions can and will be answered - all you have to do is ask!! Good luck.
