  • Ready to Go!

    Hello All!

I am in the begining stages of induction, and boy is it hard to get over those carb cravings! I have done atkins in the past and been temporarily succesful, but then I fall off the wagon. This time around I'm more focused and have a better idea of my strengths and weakness. I know that in order for me to lose the weight I HAVE TO EXCERCISE, and I have to be mindful of what I'm putting into my body. With that being said, I'm ready to make a healthy change. I will get some stats & body shots up soon.....need a new scale. I think I am currently around 250 or so, give or take a few pounds.

I wish you all luck on your journey, and hope that I can count on you to encourage, educate and route for me as well!

You are right snowboots and the older we are, the more necessary the exercise becomes. Hang in there. I just finished my first week at a re-induction. It was tough but it gets easier every day.

Hi and welcome back to Atkins Snow --

Regardless of what you did before, or what people are doing now it’s best not to compare - just follow the plan the way it's written. Look around and find what interests you and join in. Check the STAC Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet for additional support. Also remember, Atkins is a lifetime eating plan, not a “quick fix diet”.

I hope you already have the 2002 DANDR book and have read it, it is the edition we follow on this site. If not it's worth a few dollars to purchase. Get enough pure water in daily (64oz is recommended), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin.

The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out! Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)(What foods can be eaten on Induction?)(What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily.
