          Hello again ,...

I am starting in the morning ,..I must say I am very very nervous ,..why ? ,you guys might ask ,..well ,because I am addicted to carbs (-really, I am ) ,and I'm so scared I'm not going to be able to make it through one day without drinking a juice or eating a piece of candy or getting me a sausage biscuit for breakfast ,...I'm a prayerful person ,..so tonight ,.I will be praying for a lot of willpower

So what is your plan for the day? Have you thought about what you will be doing? Have those water bottles armed and ready to go. Get rid of the things in the house that may be your worst enemy. (I covered a lot of stuff up. I put things in the back of the cupboard - I placed water bottles all over. It worked for me)

well,..I will be at work from 8-5pm ,..so I have my waterbottles ready (with a hint of lemon-) , for breakfast I will have two boiled eggs and 4 strips of bacon ,..for lunch, I will have a large spring salad (consisting of cheese, cherry tomatoes ,celery ,and pepperoni-) and for dinner I will have boneless-skinless chicken with a little Ms. Dash sprinkled over it and a small side salad ,..My biggest problem is going to be the water ,..I HATE WATER ,and the last time I tried Atkins-which was about 13 years ago ,the water was a big task for me ,..any suggestions ? ,..what do you think about my 3 meals for tomorrow ?

                Re: Hello ,...Newbie on Board!

There is just no replacement for water - you just have to chug it down. Get used to it from the very beginning - do small sips all the time and use an attractive bottle. Once in awhile I do sparkly water - so that is a nice change. But to your darnest at least 64 oz.

I think you meal plans are fine. I would think about the following rules though - 3 cups of veggies with only one cup from the other list (so not too many cherry tomatoes) Always have fat with your stuff. So a nice oily vinaigrette with your salad. Some skin and some butter with your chicken - dressing with your salad. Watch for sugars in the pepperoni (usually dextrose) and plan for some snacks (Boiled eggs? - small piece of cheese, celery with cream cheese ?? - you do not have to eat it but the first few days we do get a bit hungry and snacks are a good way to keep us going (AND water )
                Good planning.

                  Re: Hello ,...Newbie on Board!

Ok Great ! I didn't know I could snack in between ,..I will do some celery for a snack . I don't have to add the tomatoes if you think it's a good idea (-I was just using them for a little bit of color to my salad
I will definitely keep an eye on the pepperoni and the only salad dressings I like are the vinigarettes
I will have plenty of water to snack on if I get too hungry

                    Re: Hello ,...Newbie on Board!

Celery is not a good snack - you need to eat fat and protein for snack. If you are to eat anything that is pure carb (like celery) you should eat it in combination with fat - so celery and cream cheese is acceptable.

Also you need to have a look at the rules. You can have tomatoes - just not a lot of them

                        Re: Hello ,...Newbie on Board!

Welcome to ADBB. I'm sorry to hear you were ill and hope you are feeling better.

I am more of a carb-snack lover than a meal person, so I do like Dr. Atkins did and keep a plate of meats in the fridge. Sometimes I make his rib recipe and other times, it's pork, tuna, or chicken, etc. Today it's crustless spinach quiche from Lindas low carb recipes. I cut it into tiny squared and pop one in my mouth when I feel I want junk treat (not going over my limit of course). Who knew I would love spinach? lol And it doesn't take much to satisfy my carb-crave anymore.

                        Best wishes to you.

                          Hi ,..
I'm definitely going to have to get some good Atkins snack recipes because I really want to stick with this ,and you're like me ,..I'm a SNACKER as well (- especially sitting at my desk at work -) ..I know that when ,not " if " , I make it through this first week ,..it will be a breeze .( especially when I start seeing my results
This week is going to be the ultimate TEST for me.
I bought Ketosis test strips ,..I figured I would start testing with them on Wednesday or Thursday.

Maybe you need to break that habit?

Mindlessly snacking in front of the TV, computer, etc. often leads to overeating.
