  • Hello Everyone!

New guy here. I'm Dave and I am a noob! I have been reading a lot on this forum, and I am inspired to say the least. The before and after pictures really make you want to turn it up to 11. I look forward to staying here and interacting with everyone.

Hi Dave - love your 'status' - very funny. Welcome to the forum, it's just an excellent site. I highly recommend joining some challenges - they have certainly helped me get back to exercise, water, etc.

    Good luck and enjoy!

      Re: Hello Everyone!

Remember, not to get discouraged if the weight doesn't keep coming off quickly. Slow is good.

Don't weigh yourself every day...I know it's hard, but it will get you discouraged if you do.

Drink, drink, drink, drink, water. I was drinking 24 -32 oz in the beginning and now I'm up to 100oz a day and it make a BIG difference. I didn't think it would, but it does. I was constantly bloated and after increasing my water I can tell a difference.

Plan your meals. Whenever I don't do this I fail and end up eating all the wrong things. Tastes going in, but afterwards you'll feel sick. At least I do.

Vary you menus and don't get in a rut and eat all the same things or you'll get bored and will want to cheat.

Keep a food log. I use my blog to do it and it really helps. I also started using FitDay.com to track how many carbs I'm eating. Great site!!!!

Exercise. Even if it's a little, it will help, not only with your weight, but your mood.

A site I found on one of the treads that have a lot of great ideas what to eat:

Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes - Induction Menus

Let me know if I can help in any way. Best of luck to you.

        Re: Hello Everyone!

Hi Dave, the most important thing you can do now is read the book. The entire thing. It will save you from sidestepping and explain the rationale behind this way of eating. Welcome to ADBB!

It's not about the results. Its about the process.
