  • There - I said it

Hey - I've been a long time member - have bounced on and off the diet for many years now. Weird medical problems always seem to crop up. "Supposedly" derailing me. I know - it's just an excuse.

I would introduce alcohol back into my diet, far quicker than I should have. One glass turned into two, which - ultimately - turned into a bottle a day! No wonder I gained so much weight!

I can't seem to bring myself to go to AA, so I'll be using this board as my means of support.

One day at a time, right?

Anyway - I am now day two with no wine. Day two - cheat free induction. Gonna start completely clean.

anyway - thanks for reading/ listening!

Good luck Cocobelle - think long term goals - short term gratification is easy. But if you can achieve your long term goals the rewards will be so much greater. Remember it is all about control and you are in the driver's seat.

Welcome Coco, your story sounds all too familiar to me. I would do the same thing, thinking if I just stayed in induction , I could add a couple of drinks here and there and it wouldn't really hurt anything. Problem was the drinks eventually got to be more routine than the woe and I'd let the entire thing slip away. This time though I'm doing it right, today is 4 weeks for me alcohol free, 17 days cheat free Atkins and I'm determined to do it right this time, even climing the rungs. If I can do it, I know anyone can. If you need someone to talk to feel free to pm me.

If you were adding alcohol, you were not staying in induction. But you knew that. Good luck to both.

^ why do people insist on saying stuff like this? Is it helpful, at all???? Thank you, Captain Obvious.

Grrr... guess I'm just a little more than irritable today.

Well, other newbies read your thread too, so sometimes stating what is obvious to you may not be obvious for another newbie who hasn't read the book.
