Hello! I am new to this board but not to this WOE. I was successful years ago in my early twenties. I went off and slowly gained more than what I had lost. I have a child, which is pretty cool because I also have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). I am more concerned now with my general health than I was before. I found it easy to stict to this WOE before, and now that I am in it again I am back on track! I intend to make this a lifetime WOE and never being puffy again. I live in California, I have 1 daughter - a 2 yr old, and I live with her father. Thanks everyone here for being a daily motivating force for me!

Re: New to board, second time around for WOE
Welcome and good luck. Glad you found your way back. Doing this for the right reasons gives you a much better chance of success. Being healthy is always number one- you want to be around for many many years for your daughter and the rest of those that care about you. Stick around and enjoy the ride, it gets crazy here sometimes

Started this diet on Sun 4/26/09
50 lbs gone on Sun 9/27/09
Well its been over a year now and I am currently on maintenance and still trying to adjust to the "new" ME. No major struggles to report, just livin' day to day.

Hi and welcome back to Atkins --
Regardless of what you did before, or what people are doing now, your body is different than anyone so it’s best not to compare - just follow the plan the way it's written. Look around and find what interests you and join in. Check the STAC Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet for additional support.
I hope you already have the 2002 DANDR book and have read it, it is the edition we follow on this site. If not it's worth a few dollars to purchase. Get enough pure water in daily (64oz is recommended), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin.
The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out! Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)(What foods can be eaten on Induction?)(What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily.
