  • G'Day Atkins helpers!

    hi, how you going?

I'm a ex body builder, been on and off the atkins as a quick fix, but now I'm commited for the long term plan, I put on allot of weight since I stopped training but kept eating the same, so now it's time to cut the fat!

I'm in my 4th day of the induction and I've already lost 4Kgs!! though I imagine a substantial amount of this is water retention.

I'l give you my stats I've taken before photos also so will post them when I have some after photos to go with them

    Height: 5"10
    Weight: 106 KGs/233 Pounds
    Chest: 47.5 Inch
    Waist: 47.5 Inch (oh dear)
    Hips: 44 Inch
    Arms: 15 Inch (relaxed)
    Thigh: 24 Inch
    Calf: 17 Inch
    Neck: 17 Inch
    Current BMI = 33.5

My target weight is 80Kgs/176 Pounds, and I would like my BMI to be in the early 20's range.

I'm going to be continuing the induction phase for longer than 2 weeks, the only question I have is, are there any gentlemen out there who simply have larger frames, and who cant reach there target weights as they have to much natural bulk??

Anyway feel free to ask any questions you may have and I look forward to using your advice!!

    Cheers

    Re: G'Day Atkins helpers!

Welcome to ADBB! Feel free to join us for the exercise challenges in November. A lot of folks modify their goals based on how they look and feel as the weight drops. I know that my goal is above the actually "normal" goals for women but I tend to build muscle easily and have a dense body so I will be downright slender at that weigh in spite of the tables at the docs office. If you lift I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that you are the same. The scale number is an approximation--you may need to reevaluate as you go.
    JILL

    HW 298
    HW (this time) 248
    GOAL ONE 228
    (take 2)
    GOAL TWO 213 (personal goal)
    GOAL THREE 199 ONE-DERLAND
    FINAL GOAL 165

It's not about the results. Its about the process.

Thanks for the advice chinadoll! How do you regulate the exercise challenges?
And how do you know people aren't cheating? lol

That sounds like a good idea family guy, what sort of build are you?
are you naturally a large build?
and how tall are you? (I'm just trying to work out if 176 Pounds is an achieveable goal for me, as im a little worried my muscle mass may stop me achieveing my goal?)
are you measureing yourself aswell as weighing?

        cheers

If you check the exercise challenges each person posts what they did on a daily basis....how do we know people aren't cheating? We don't actually, but if they are cheating they are cheating themselves mostly.

There is a men's forum you may be interested in. Also several of the men lift weights so you may find a few buds with common interests here.

Good luck - glad you aren't using Atkins as a quick fix now....it was never set up that way but so many people use it that way then say it's dangerous, doesn't work, etc.
