  • Newbie!

    Hello everyone,

I have been lurking around this site for about a year now, and during that time I have attempted to take tips and use them in my journey. Unfortunately, I haven't had any luck in the weight loss process. I am a yo-yo dieter and when i lose 10 lbs i gain 15 lbs back....
I'm 26 years old and tired of being overweight. My family and friends are all thin and beautiful and I want to be beautiful too.
I am here, on this site, as a way of getting support, help, tips, and inspiration from all of you.
This coming year will be a brand new year for me; physically, mentally and emotionally, and I am positive that with continued support and personal will power, I will be able to reach my goal.
I am currently 5'6'' and 205lbs. By my 27 birthday (next June) I hope to be 150 lbs at least.

    Good luck to all

      Welcome to the Atkins Board.

I hope you already have the 2002 DANDR book and have read it, it is the edition we follow on this site. If not it's worth a few dollars to purchase. Get enough pure water in daily (64oz is recommended), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin

The new challenges will be starting in the next few days -- check them out and join a couple that interest you.

Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily. Rules of Induction: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What are the Rules of Induction?)

The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out!

        Re: Newbie!

Welcome to the board Strawberry, and congratulations for moving out of lurkdom. Now get rid of the phrase yo-yo dieter, and choose to do this as a way of life. Unfortunately, I speak from experience as to not doing this as a quick fix. It is very difficult when all your friends are thin, and many will tempt you with "only one bite" or "just one drink" or "you can go back on your diet tomorrow". These can be toxic. Visit the forums, join the challenges, and come here often for support. Best wishes .
