  • Hi, another newbie :)

    Hi,
I am so happy to be here! I am ready to lose this weight, motivated, focused and excited about the journey I am about to start.

A little bit about me, I am the mommy of two small boys who keep me very active. I am married and also work full time. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, and was diagnosed about eight years ago. That's when I started gaining weigh (I had never been overweight by more than 10 lbs before that). Somehow I am now 100 lbs heavier than I was eight years ago and I am ready to shed the pounds. Last week the Dr. diagnosed me with PCOS, so any advice on that would be wonderful.

    Wish me luck

Welcome to ADBB. There are a number of successful PCOS losers here and I think you will find that the Atkins way will work for you. I know the arthritis makes things tough but move as much as you can. It helps. Any questions so far?

Here is a PCOS forum that may be of interest:

          Welcome to the Atkins Board.

I hope you already have the 2002 DANDR book and have read it, it is the edition we follow on this site. If not it's worth a few dollars to purchase. Get enough pure water in daily (64oz is recommended), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin.

Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily. The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out!
