Hi !!! :wave
I'm a 30yo female Australian of Asian origins. Started on Atkins 24 Jan 05 with 44lbs to lose. After 2 months I was at the halfway mark and have stalled for the last month due to a few Saturdays of indulgence. However I am back on Induction to kick-start the weightloss.
Initially I found it difficult as my preference is Asian food. However I have since taken many of the Atkins recipes and either gotten used to them or given them an asian spin to them, keeping in mind my carb count.
The first few weeks on Atkins was great because I was so hyperactive. But then I started to get a bit down because I was getting bored of my food (often lack of time won over making my meals interesting). At one point I got a massive craving for chocolate (couldn't work out why because I had followed Atkins strictly). Then in the last month of stalling, I was invited to a few Saturdays of excellent Thai food and blew my carb count. Luckily I have just plateaued on 65kg/143lbs and gone back to Induction for 2 weeks
Since I started Atkins, 2 of my colleagues have followed suit, because not only have they seen me "shrunk", they have seen me eat all the foods that they can only dream "low-fat". I know I do not have as much weight to lose but I do know that when I do Atkins right, it is nutritious, well-balanced way of life rather than a diet.
I would recommend Atkins to any of overweight Australians out there, and to disregard all the negative hype out there, because if you read as much as you can find about Atkins, you will discover that much of the negative reviews out there are based on false assumptions and based on the strictest part of Atkins ie 2-week Induction.
So all of you Aktkiners out there who are thinking of quitting or giving up - DON'T ! :ThumbsUp
