  • Ready to go :D

Hi all, It says to introduce yourself so here goes I am 28 years old, originally from the US, Tennessee but recently (about 5 mths ago) moved to Australia to be with a very special man. This has changed my life in so many positive ways and I have decided that 1 more thing I really need to do to improve my life is to get healthier and become more happy in myself. I have always been a little "chubby" but over the last couple years it has really gotten out of hand, I have lost all self confidence in myself and I am really ready to reclaim my life again. I am in a new place and starting a new life, so this naturally should be a part of it. These boards have been suprisingly motivational, I spent some time reading and looking at people's before and after photos and it is really amazing how far some people have come, and how much better they look, and seem to feel. Some of the things are truely emotional, almost bringing me to tears, because I can relate so much and seeing someone reach their goals or watching them melt away is really, really, very uplifting. Anyhow, I have researched for several days and today I am out to purchase the book, and will be starting induction in a few days. I will be around and will continue to update everyone on my progress Thanks in advance :P

Welcome to the Atkins Board Shy!!

I hope you already have the 2002 DANDR book and have read it, it is the edition we follow on this site. If not it's worth a few dollars to purchase. Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water daily, exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin. The new challenges are starting for the month -- check them out and join a couple that interest you. Just remember we are all in the same boat -- we're all here to loose excess weight, we're all busy people and have busy lives but we find a few minutes a day to help each other out!

Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily. Rules of Induction: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What are the Rules of Induction?)

The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out!

        Re: Ready to go

Welcome, shy. Read the forums (especially the Induction forum) and the book and learn as much as you can before you begin. Do come often to post. It's nice to have another Atkineer in a similar time zone. The boards are often quiet when I am on. Fire away with any questions you have. We are here to help.

          Welcome to the ADBB, shy!

I can't imagine pulling up stakes and moving to Australia so I applaud your courage! Anyone who can do that, can do Atkins too because it takes that same sense of adventure. Good luck to you!
