    Good Morning my Atkins buddies.... I am glad to announce that as of today, 1 week into Induction Phase ... I am down 8 pounds about 4". I am so excited. I didn't want to weigh myself till I hit my 14 day mark, but I feel so differntly. My DH told me over the weekend that my stomach sides feel a little firmer, I am losing my Love Handles (which he loves) & I don't look 8 months pregnant no more. Although I wouldn't mind looking 8 months pregnant if I actually was.

    Well, I am loving it. I am eating so much healthier and my DH and DD want to eat what I'm eating. But they are not on my DIet so they are not strict to it. over the weekend I made some Strip steaks, with some sauted onion & mushrooms, with a side of green beans and it was Delicious, and they loved it.

    Anyway, I am now on week 2... I hope I can at least reach my mini goal of 250. That would be so wonderful. I do plane on goiung on Extended Induction till I hit at least 200 lbs, then I may go to the next phase.

    Question... I wanted to add A1 Steak Sauce cause I noticed it had very low carbs... but I was 2nd guessing if I should or not so I didn't. Is it on the ok list? Also, if I have a sweet tooth.... I bought me a bucket of Cool WHip.... so if I want something sweet, I'll have me 1-2 tbs. Which helps alot... hope it's ok though.

    I hope to post pics up soon, I will take pics at my 2 week Induction finalee. I may post then. Thanks for everyones support.

    Don't be disappointed if you don't. Deadlines for weight loss usually are not met... because Mr. Metabolism does not work on Mr. Brain's schedule.

    Think well about that. Induction does not guarantee faster weight loss. Nor does it guarantee you will be successful on Atkins, i.e. lose weight, reach your goal and maintain it.

    You might want to re-read Chapters 12 and 13 in DANDR, just to make sure you have the right strategy.

    Did you check the ingredients in (SF?) Cool Whip? There IS sugar there! Cool Whip is junk food. Buy heavy cream and whip it yourself.

    Also, as I said a few minutes ago in another thread, substituting sugary junk food for low carb junk food won't change your eating habits. Killing your sweet tooth instead of feeding it will help you more in the long term.

      Great first week !! Now hold onto that and keep going I know you want to set a good example for your daughter, so remember to avoid those Frankenfoods (cool whip). Don't you love this WOE?

        Georgina.. Thanks for quick reply. I am not sure what the ingredients are, I have to wait until I at least get home to double check. I bought the Cool Whip about the 2 day of Induction cuz I did have a very bad sweet tooth.... so I got hom and had me 2 tbs that evening and then had me another 2 or 3 the next evening. That was Wednesday... I actually haven't had any since... I haven't had a sweet tooth since. I guess I was going thru withdrawel or somthing. I even took my daughter Trick'0'Treating on Saturday and didn't crave any of the candy. I use to eat at least 10 peices by the time we were done, but this time I had zero. So I guess I am on a good start. I drink nothing but water all day. I just started drinking 1 cup of decaff coffee in the morning with cream and 2 splendas... but the rest pure H2O so i have me an average of 80oz to 100oz per day. I will take another look at chapter 12&13. I'm still pretty new so I am still trying to get the hang of the basics and the keynotes... but I will get there. I am so ready to get there.

        kntrylady... Thanks. Yes, I do want to set a good example for DD. She is so proud of me and wrapped her arms around me while I was washing dishes.. she said I could put my arms around you without stretching. That was a moment for both of us.

        I guess I can avoid the Cool WHip. I'll just save it for Thanksgiving, so that I can make my guest a Fruit Sald or something with it. Thanks for the support.

            fantastic Job!!! whipping the heavy cream...EXCELLENT suggestion Georgiana. that may be enough to get me through the next two weeks when i get a terrible craving... limited and in moderation of course.

              Sugar-free jello, with a spoonful of heavy cream over it. You don't even have to whip it. YUMM.

                imagood1... Thanks for posting ingredients. thank goodness I didnt have any with my steak. SO besides looking at Carbs, what do I stay away in the ingredients? That is where I get confused. I normally just look at the Carb amount per serving.

                meow... So at the story I just look for "Heavy Cream"? With Sugar free Jello. Thanks.. sounds very yummy.

                    Mayo is not either.

                    Gelatin is usually made from animal collagen. So it is allowed.

                    Don't forget to count it towards your sweeteners though.

                      ok so now im confused... i am seeing tons of posts on here that say... "is it on the list...NO..then dont eat it"...now.. mayo isnt on the list, and jello isnt on the list so we are allowed to eat it. Who decides that we are allowed to eat it? and what is the reasoning behind allowing certain things that arent on the list? And...what's not on the list that i can eat then??...(more food choices..woohoo )

                        Mayo should be egg yolk, oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper. All of which are on the Acceptable Foods List. Now that the mayonnaise you buy at the store has other stuff in it (e.g., preservatives)... that's another story. But the ingredients are all "allowed".

                        Mayo and gelatin are on the list. They are just not written outright.

                        Pork rinds are another example.

                          SF Jello got me through my sweet cravings my first 2 days of induction. Now it tastes too sweet to me and I don't even want it at all.
