  • In introduction to me?

Hi! My name is Amanda and this is the second time I've tried the Atkins diet. The first time I tried it, I was 16 years old and only wanted to lose 30 pounds. Well, I did... then I put it right back on and THEN some! I went right back to eating the way I used to, and boy did it take it's tole. Now I'm 20, and I really don't want to go on at this weight. I started Atkin's Induction Phase 3 days ago on Halloween. My highest weight ever was 253 pounds, about 3 weeks ago. I started at 247.6 pounds and my current weight yesterday was 245.6. That's 2 pounds in 2 days! My goal is 160, and by next Halloween, I hope to be able to wear a cute costume!
I have been doing great diet wise, but I need to start exercising! Ugh. I can hardly find motivation to do that... but I will! I am having a mild case of the induction flu... and it's sucked all the energy out of me!
Anyway, thanks for reading a little about me! =]

        Hi & welcome.

We have a bunch of exercise challenges going on. There is the 6WEC (6 week exercise challenge) which should be starting up a new session in about 2 weeks. There is a squat challenge, an abs challenge, a mileage challenge a strength-training challenge, a stair-climbing challenge....lots to choose from! Lots of people find that joining a challenge helps them stay motivated...I know it helps me Most of the challenges start on the first of the month, some you can join anytime. I'm sure no one would mind if you joined a monthly challenge now

Best wishes for a successful journey

Hi and welcome back to Atkins --

Regardless of what you did before, or what people are doing now, your body is different than anyone so it’s best not to compare - just follow the plan the way it's written. Look around and find what interests you and join in. Check the STAC Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet for additional support. Just remember Atkins is a lifestyle change, not a quick fix - so welcome to this way of eating for the rest of your life!

I hope you already have the 2002 DANDR book and have read it, it is the edition we follow on this site. If not it's worth a few dollars to purchase. Get enough pure water in daily (64oz is recommended), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin.

Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily. Rules of Induction: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What are the Rules of Induction?)

The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out!

            Welcome to ADBB!

I see you have an "Induction goal". Don't be disappointed if you don't make it. Weight loss often does not go as we "plan" it.
