I've done Atkins several years ago and got good results, then got off and, no surprise, have gained all back. I'm back on it now! I've heard it doesn't come off as quickly after the first time - true? Anyone experience a different rate of loss getting back to LC after having done it before?

Re: Back to low carb
Welcome to ADBB!
You are older... your metabolism is likely slower. You will probably be eating different foods... exercising differently... There are many variables in there. Better not to compare your weight loss now with your weight loss last time you did Atkins.Originally posted by lcardwell View PostI've heard it doesn't come off as quickly after the first time - true?"Get action. Re: Back to low carb
Hi and welcome back to Atkins --
Regardless of what you did before, or what people are doing now, your body is different than it was, and it's different than anyone else, so it’s best not to compare - just follow the plan the way it's written. Look around and find what interests you and join in. Check the STAC Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet for additional support.
I hope you already have the 2002 DANDR book and have read it, it is the edition we follow on this site. If not it's worth a few dollars to purchase. Get enough pure water in daily (64oz is recommended), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin.
Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily. Rules of Induction: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What are the Rules of Induction?)
The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out!
