  • I Lost 125 Pounds

    Hello everyone. My name is Lisa and I just joined this board today, however have used Atkins eating guidelines since 2001.

    I lost 125 pounds in 2 years, from 2001 - 2003. I kept it off until early 2007 when I started gaining pound here and a pound there. I currently have 20 pounds to lose... the hardest ones! I can't seem to get into ketosis this time around. Is it possible to be ketosis resistant and/or is there a way to trigger it?

      Strips. I am not losing weight on the normal under 20 net carbs per day. I am trying to go under 10 net carbs and increasing fat intake.

        Could you post a menu, with quantities and net carbs? How many net carbs were you eating while losing weight? Did you progress through OWL?

            I have never shown any color on the strips -- they are, as Georgiana said above, unreliable. Go back to a strict induction and because you don't have much to loose don't get upset when you don't loose 10 or more pounds in the first couple weeks.

            The closer I stay to 20 carbs per day the better I loose, I wouldn't recommend going down to 10 .... post your menu for a couple days (include exact amounts and every morsel you eat).
