Where did you download it from?

Was it the 2002 edition of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution?

Have you read the book yet?

    >>tells me what i am to eat and what not and has lots of recipes but I dont have a Diet Plan in it>>

You make your own meal plans from the list of Acceptable Foods for Induction.

Atkins isn't a "you eat this at this time" plan.

Atkins doesn't really have a "diet plan" as much as it does a list of acceptable and unacceptable foods. But it does caution you not to overeat.

I've known people who assumed it was "all you can eat" of meat and cheese, which is wrong.

Check out the thread on people's menus and that cold be helpful.

For example on Induction (the first phase) here's what my menu might look like for one day:

      Breakfast:
Two eggs fried in 1TB butter
1 organic italian pork sausage (check labels; no sugars or preservatives)

      Snack:
      2 oz. laughing cow cheese

      Lunch:
4 cups romaine lettuce with 2TB Marie's Blue Cheese dressing
      5 large green olives
      1/2 avocado
      shredded chicken

      Dinner:
      8 oz. tri tip grilled
      1 cup steamed broccolli
      small green salad
      1/2 cup sliced jicama

So basically look at the list of acceptable foods and eat them in moderation.

      Good luck.

        Welcome to the Atkins Board.

Glad you found the board and are excited about staring. First of all, Atkins is not a "diet" it's a way of eating over a lifetime. Once you learn how to eat this way you will wonder why you didn't start long before now. The food choices are yours - what I eat or anyone else eats may not be foods you like so it's best to look at the acceptable food list and plan your meals according. Use a free program such as FitDay to figure out how many net carbs you are eating per day (net carbs are carbs minus fiber)

A few tips to help get you started: Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water daily, exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin - these are mandatory with Atkins so start now and get off on the right foot.

I know nothing about the DANDR books you can get online - I purchased the real book at www
.half.com and paid 1.05 including shipping. Until you read the book you won't know what you're doing so it's best to read first then start the plan. That way you know what you are doing and will follow the plan the way it was written.

Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list
(What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily. Rules of Induction: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What are the Rules of Induction?)

The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out!

Hey Guys thanks a lot for all the info. I downloaded an ebook for Atkins Diet Revolution and its the updated edition.

Ok, today I began the program, One quick question, I just had some instant coffee which has sugar in it. Can I have it or not ?

The book says no, but I am addicted to it, so will that be bad for my diet ?

            Not. It has SUGAR!

You mean, the sugar or the fact that you are addicted to it?

Both are bad for your "diet".

It is bad for you to have that sugar - cut it out now.
If you absolutely cannot do without sweet in your coffee you can do an artificial sweetener.

And just to note, make sure the "ebook" is complete ... some I've seen aren't the entire book.

Especially if your didn't pay much for it.

And if you got the book from an individual, instead of a reputable on-line book seller, know that the book is most likely an infringement of copyright ... there is no "legal" PDF copy of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution.
