Welcome to ADBB !! You will find lots of support on this board, along with answers to questions you may have. Everyone will encourage you primarily to Read the Book, and follow it. The 2002 version was many years in the making, and will explain alot of how and why this WOE works so well.

There are other people on this board with PCOS, and I'm sure will chime in. Congratulations on your weight loss thus far

Good luck with your weightloss. You can do it!!!
If you are planning conceive remember to get alot of folic acid in your diet. Such as dark leafy greens, like spinach. It will also help protect you from anemia which also helps you conceive.

            Re: Newbie here

            Welcome to the Atkins Board.

Glad you found the board and are excited about staring. First of all, Atkins is not a "diet" it's a way of eating over a lifetime. A "plateau" will happen with any diet (or way of eating such as Atkins) so just remember you've already lost a lot of weight - your body needs time to catch up to the changes it's going through.

A few tips to help get you started with Atkins: Read the book - first and foremost!Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water daily, start an exercise routine and take a non-iron multivitamin - these are mandatory with Atkins so start now and get off on the right foot.

I hope you already have the 2002 DANDR book and have read it, it is the edition we follow on this site. If not it's worth a few dollars to purchase (check www.half.com I bought a new hardcover book 2 weeks ago for $1.05 including shipping & processing).

Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list
(What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily. Rules of Induction: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What are the Rules of Induction?)

The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out!
