Well, this is my first day on the diet and I'm a little confused about some things. I really would like to download some help with this so I have it first hand. I've been on the Atkin's web site and looked at their 2 week meal plan and I really don't like some of that food. I'm willing to try some of it but wish I could figure out my own personal plan and still follow the induction guidelines. So if anyone can send me some tips I would really be grateful!

Re: Confused
On this board we follow the 2002ed of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution. The Atkins site does not (they changed the rules of the diet after Dr. Atkins death to allow more of their products).
You first need to pick a version of the diet and stick with it. The book is worth a read (or two) and will help get rid of your confusion. If you choose the 2002ed, there are sticky posts that explain most of the rules to get you started.Julie__________________F/37/5'2"__________________Start April 15, 2009

Re: Confused
The best meal plan is to use the Induction food list as a guide!

Re: Confused
Welcome to the Atkins Board.
Glad you found the board and are excited about staring. First of all, Atkins is not a "diet" it's a way of eating over a lifetime. Once you learn how to eat this way you will wonder why you didn't start long before now. A few tips to help get you started: Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water daily, exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin - these are mandatory with Atkins so start now and get off on the right foot.
If you can't find a copy of the 2002 DANDR book locally check www.fitday.com I purchased a new hardbound copy 2 weeks ago there listed as "used" but it had never been opened -- and paid $1.05 including shipping and handling. It took about 4 days to get here.
Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily. Rules of Induction: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What are the Rules of Induction?)
The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out!

Thx so much I like Linda's Menu and recipes. I really don't want to get in a jam and get hungry late at nite because I don't know how to or what to eat in the day!
