    Hi there,

    Started on Thursday and coping quite well, just happy that I'm not getting hungry as I used to in the day.
    Hope this one works, I'm tired of the weight yo-yo!
    I think a change in lifestyle as well as "mental adjustment" was needed to get me here, I'm on the road to a heart attack!
    Dedication and willpower is needed in spades here, lets hope I'm up to it....and off we go.....

    BTW...Is there anything safe to drink apart from water?

          Welcome to the Atkins Board.

          Glad you found the board and are excited about staring. First of all, Atkins is not a "diet" it's a way of eating over a lifetime. Once you learn how to eat this way you will wonder why you didn't start long before now. A few tips to help get you started: Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water daily, exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin - these are mandatory with Atkins so start now and get off on the right foot.

          I'm glad you have the book, make sure you read it. Eat only the foods on the acceptable food list and eat a variety of foods and vegetables.

There are other things you can drink other than water, but make sure you get your water in. 64 ounces is the minimum -- an easy formula is half your weight in water daily.

            Thanks for all the useful info, you guys are a great help

            I have only been going 3 full days but I can already feel the difference in energy, it is quite exhilarating!!
            I couldn't help myself so I weighed this morning and I've lost 3.3lbs in 3 days so I'm quite happy!

            I'm getting my multivitamins today so that should help too and the exercise is going well, was up at 5am yesterday for a 35min walk, it was great!....FEEL THE BURN
