Welcome to ADBB.
The only way this way of eating will fail is if you let it. The best way to succeed is to prepare yourself by reading the book (2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution is used here) and following as it was intended instead of doing what you may "think" Atkins is. That means drinking a lot of plain water, eating your vegetables-and only the ones allowed in the amounts allowed-- and staying off the scale so you are not obsessing over not losing a pound every day. You need to plan shopping, cooking and meals on the go. There is not substitute for planning. Exercise of some sort is mandatory. This is not magic. It requires work and dedication but if you follow Atkins properly, you will not fail.

Don't be scared... take baby steps and follow the programme to the letter... one day at a time. You can do this!

just like everything else in life, if you want to do it and do it well, you need to put in the effort. Read the book, ask questions, read the forum, learn - the more you know the more succesful you will be.
Plan and prepare, commitment and conviction - just follow the plan and it will reward you BIG!sigpic

Nothing to be afraid of -- drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water daily (nothing added), exercise and take a multivitamin. The best thing you can do is make up 3 or 4 days worth of menu's so as each meal comes up you know exactly what you are eating, it's in the house, and there are no excuses to eat something you shouldn't be.
If you have a sweet tooth it's best to kill it as soon as possible -- it may seem impossible but once it's gone everything else is so much easier.
Look at the recipe sites to find great things to eat -- I had the loaded cauliflower from Linda's site for dinner tonight -- tasted just like a baked potato but is completely legal!

Also, check this link for additional information. I hope you have the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) book - and have read it - it explains so much! Eat only the foods on the acceptable food list and eat a variety of foods and vegetables.
