I'm from Kansas and I'm 34 I have struggled all my life with weight issues and now I'm dedicated to a life change.

Hi misslissa, welcome to posting on ADBB! Do you have the 2002 DANDR book and have you read it? Any questions as you get started? Although i suspect if you have been lurking awhile you already know what we will say.

Welcome to the Atkins Board.

Glad you found the board and are excited about starting the plan. First of all, Atkins is not a "diet" it's a way of eating over a lifetime. Once you learn how to eat this way you will wonder why you didn't start long before now. A few tips to help get you started: Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water daily (nothing added), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin - these are mandatory with Atkins so start now and get off on the right foot.

Jill told you about the book, make sure you read it - you'll have the knowledge you need to get to your goal (2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution [DANDR]), eat only the foods on the acceptable food list and eat a variety of foods and vegetables.
