  • Newbie Alert =)

    Hey everyone,
I bought Dr. Atkins book (2002) ed. and read it from front to back. It makes so much sense it's unbelievable! I started the induction phase almost right away on November 1st, 2009...I only found out how much incredible online support there is a few days in, and this board especially helped me maintain the induction phase.
    A little about myself:
    I'm 21, 5"5.5
I started at 178lb and my goal is 120 (I don't ever remember being that weight, but for my build and height my dr. says its around the weight I should be), I am 166lb now (how awesome?!) and I plan on doing extended for just a bit more.
I'm not a big-time poster, I just wanted to thank everyone for their advice and motivation tips, it has been a major help!
    All the best to everyone!

          Welcome to the Atkins Board.

Glad you found the board and are excited about starting the plan. First of all, Atkins is not a "diet" it's a way of eating over a lifetime. Once you learn how to eat this way you will wonder why you didn't start long before now. Don't stay on induction too long, most of your weight should be lost in the OWL (ongoing weight loss) phase - you need time to add back all the foods you want to try out slowly. A few tips to help get you started: Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water daily (nothing added), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin - these are mandatory with Atkins so start now and get off on the right foot.

          Good luck to you!
