  • Try try again

    Hi,

Trying Atkins again. I have tried it in the past and I feel good when I'm on it and I do loose weight. My problem is I may drop 25lbs and feel the need to celebrate. Then I find it hard to get back on board. I have tried Weight Watchers but I am always hungry, same thing with counting calories. I started this at 277 and would love to get to 200. I can never seem to stay the course. Maybe this time I will do it.

Hi there and welcome back to Atkins and to the board.

You deserve to have a little celebration after a 25 lb loss. How about treating yourself to something you like, that isn't food related?

Hi and welcome back to Atkins --

Regardless of what you did before, or what people are doing now, your body is different than anyone so it’s best not to compare - just follow the plan the way it's written. Look around and find what interests you and join in. Check the STAC Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet for additional support. When you feel the need to "celebrate" do it legally and stay on plan.

I hope you already have the 2002 DANDR book and have read it, it is the edition we follow on this site. If not it's worth a few dollars to purchase. Get enough pure water in daily (64oz minimum is recommended), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin.

Check this page for answers to a lot of your questions: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/77558-atkins-diet-induction-faqs.html. Make sure you are eating enough vegetables – Atkins isn’t just meat and cheese – vegetables are a huge part of your daily menu and is where most of your carbs should be coming from.

The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out!

        Yeah
Motivation and stamina - those are good companions to have.
As Sally says you know what may stop you so see if you can beat it this time. How about rewarding yourself with a gym membership or something.
