So I have just begun my atkins journey...it has its good and bad parts so far...first i will start with the good...i get to eat chicken wings!!! i love chicken wings always have always will but never ate them because they are "fattening" also i get to eat regular meat and not feel bad...my poor family always has to eat turkey meat vs real ground meat..and last night for the first time i made regular burgers instead of turkey burgers...ok now on with the bad...im craving chocolate like its nobody's buisness (its also that time of the month sorry tmi) any suggestions???I went to the store and bought the atkins bars..they say that they are only 3g of net carbs..but im hearing bad things about them...thoughts anyone?? also how long did it take people to lose the weight?? of course i know its too soon but the scale hasnt budged even an ounce so far..thanks everyone!!

Welcome to the Atkins Board.
Glad you found the board and are excited about starting the plan. First of all, Atkins is not a "diet" it's a way of eating over a lifetime. Once you learn how to eat this way you will wonder why you didn't start long before now. A few tips to help get you started: Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water daily (nothing added), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin - these are mandatory with Atkins so start now and get off on the right foot.
The chocolate cravings will subside in a couple days. Try eating something opposite, like pickles when you get a craving....it helps!! The best thing is to kill out your sweet tooth as soon as possible. You'll be surprised the number of things that are naturally sweet when you eat them.
Make sure you read the book - it will give you the knowledge you need to get to your goal (2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution [DANDR]), eat only the foods on the acceptable food list and eat a variety of foods and vegetables. The bars can be stallers so if possible I would keep away from them in induduction.
If I cannot stand not having chocolate I make some whipped cream (unsweetened) and sprinkle a tad of unsweetened cocoa powder on my table spoon portion and enjoy it slowly.
