    Re: hi all

That is good to hear you are trying again.
Motivation is one thing we are going to need.
It is great that you have already identified this as one of your areas of difficulty. You are a head of the game lady!!
So now what you have to do it to set up plans for how you are going to get through those times when weight loss slow down. Weightloss will slow down on all diets including this one and there will be times when you may even see a gain. It is very naturals. So what will you do?
You could put up notcies to yourself. Use pictures. Stay away from the scale. Focus on the health benefits of eating clean.
    But make a plan Katie.
    Good luck
    And

      Re: hi all

Welcome Katie. What Liv says is true. You need to plan ahead ALWAYS and you need to recognize and prepare yourself for the fact that the scale is going to go up and down and sometimes stay stuck for weeks on end. If you really want to be successful, consider locking up the scale and just concentrating on doing this correctly. I was getting very depressed looking at te scale not moving so I ditched it. I find it easier to stay on plan because I don't feel like it isn't working just because the numbers aren't moving. Instead I am focusing on how I feel and how my clothes fit. I have lost 16 inches since October 1 and have no idea about scale weight and am feeling much better because of it!

        Re: hi all

        Welcome to the Atkins Board.

Glad you found the board and are excited about starting the plan. First of all, Atkins is not a "diet" it's a way of eating over a lifetime. Once you learn how to eat this way you will wonder why you didn't start long before now. A few tips to help get you started: Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water daily (nothing added), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin - these are mandatory with Atkins so start now and get off on the right foot.

I get my scale off the closet shelf once a week...other than that I don't miss it sitting on my kitchen floor.

Make sure you read the book - it will give you the knowledge you need to get to your goal (2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution [DANDR]), eat only the foods on the acceptable food list and eat a variety of foods and vegetables.
