New to board! Not Atkins! Down 45lbs!

Hi my name is Dan. I am new to the boards but I have been doing Extended Induction for 7 weeks and I am down 45lbs. I am participating in a weight loss challenge and my weigh in is Dec. 1st. I am very competetive so I have been working out every single morning at 6am. This past week I have been doing 2 workouts a day until my final weigh in.

Started at 335 and I am now at 290. Not sure of what my goal is but somewhere between 200 and 220. My first goal is 277, that is what I was when I got married 15 years ago.

Hey Dan, a Jersey guy. Welcome to ADBB. You are doing terrific so far. One caution--staying on Induction too long does not teach you all you need to know to keep the pounds off. Moving to Ongoing Weight Loss will help you learn how to reintroduce foods in your diet and you will continue to lose. Give it some thought. A lot of folks dont allow enough time to do the OWL part and end up back here at a higher weight than ever because they don't know how to maintain.

      GOAL TWO 213 (personal goal)
      GOAL THREE 199 ONE-DERLAND
      FINAL GOAL 165

It's not about the results. Its about the process.

Re: New to board! Not Atkins! Down 45lbs!

Thanks for the welcome and the warning. I am moving on to OWL after my weight loss challenge on Dec.1st. I actually had a bad day today. I had two sessions at the gym and I don't think I have been eating enough because a wave of exhaustion came over me. To the point were i couldn't stay awake. So I made sure to eat and drink a lot of water and I am feeling better. I am taking tomorrow off from the gym and i will be spending a great day with family eating some Turkey and Atkins friendly veggies.

Thanks again for the welcome and Happy Thanksgiving!!

        Dan

Good luck on your weigh in and be sure to move on to OWL afterwards. Great job so far.

            Re: Down 45lbs today!!

Warm welcome aboard and many congratulations on your 45 lb loss!!! Isn't it the greatest feeling when you shrink away?! Kudos to you for working out, too. That's sooooo important and is a non-negotiable part of the Atkins plan.

Any thoughts about moving to OWL? Lots are hesitant to make the move, but the truth is that many lose even faster, at least on the early rungs, and the extra food choices are welcome.
You'd have time then to see how your body reacts to various foods, before you get to goal.
