Hello Sederis. DO you have the 2002 Atkins book? That is what we go by on this site. Any questions so far?

          Re: Me

Thanks so much for the support it really means alot. I have lost one pound so far and cheated so could have been more if I had used a little more willpower. Today I am back on track and more determined than ever. My job is really my temptation because we have our own cook and she bakes cakes for the staff and cookies and cooks dishes like macaroni and cheese, corn bread, fried chicken, yams, and my favorite pizza. So if you guys can give me some extra pointers I really would love that. the book I have is Atkins for Life and it has a whit background but the words are colored in red yellow and pink. Is this the correct book and I also have the little pocket guide that counts your net carbs.

            Re: Me

Atkins for life is more for the person who is losing less and maintaining. You want the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution. They are different programs. As far as will power goes, You have to decide to really commit. This is not a plan that works well with cheating often. If you truly commit to doing this, though, it is much easier and you find you aren't tempted. Rather than committing to a weight goal or a final goal, try getting the book, starting the Induction program and committing 3 cheat free months. Then stick to it. You will be amazed.

                  Welcome to the Atkins Board.

Glad you found the board and are excited about starting the plan. First of all, Atkins is not a "diet" or a way to loose "a few pounds"...it's a way of eating over a lifetime. As China said above, make sure you read the book - it will give you the knowledge you need to get to your goal (2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution [we refer to it here as DANDR]), eat only the foods on the acceptable food list and eat a variety of foods and vegetables. (Atkins Diet Induction FAQs) http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/77558-atkins-diet-induction-faqs.html.

A few tips to help get you started: Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water daily (nothing added), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin - these are mandatory with Atkins so start now and get off on the right foot.

                  Good luck to you!
