I started almost three weeks ago, and am down 12 lbs. I'm 24 mother of 3 and in need of losing 50 lbs. I am currently 180 and hoping that I stick to it so I can have fun at Disney World with my children in May '10 and not be worn out from being over weight. I read this forum for many weeks and wasn't sure if I should join but you people seem to be a wonderful inspiration so I said what the heck!

Welcome Motherof3! Really glad you took the plunge and decided to post here. You won't regret it. Congratulations on your good start. Isn't it great when you start shrinking away?

I bought the book probably 6 months ago but I was one of those people "I'll start Monday" and never did. I'm going to start the OWL next week. I went a little longer on the induction because I cheated the first week and didn't get fully into ketosis till the 2nd week.

A few tips to help get you started: Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water daily (nothing added), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin - these are mandatory with Atkins so start now and get off on the right foot. Also, start a journal, it's a great place to get everything out in the open, be accountable to yourself - you'll also meet some great people there! http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...journal-chats/

Thank you all very much its so nice to have the support. I have a hypothyroid so I'm on synthroid. I always thought that it would be extra hard for me to lose weight but I'm beginning to see I have the power to over come.
