  • Hello from Milton Keynes UK

    Hello everyone
I'm a 47 year old man living in Milton Keynes with my partner Elaine and her children Chloe & Mia.
Elaine has also joined the forum, and is 3 days ahead of me on the diet.
I travel as a sales rep and have enjoyed my crisps and choc while on the road Which has resulted in a large weight gain.
I have been on other diets but have not managed to keep the pounds off for long so we have both decided to give the Atkins Diet a go

Will keep you all posted on how things go over the next few weeks and months

    Current weight is 203lbs
    Target weight is 160lbs

    SO HERE GOES

Ahh - you are related to that other member whose post I just answered. Glad you both joined. We had a husband - wife team here not that long ago that interacted with each other on the board. That was cute.
      welcome to you too.
Remember that when you travel you tend to eat our of boredom - this is probably one of the things you have to try to cut down on. I do a bit of travelling - and some times only with steak leftover and celery stick as my snack. Wholesome but does not really invite to eating for entertainment.

Welcome to you and Elaine! I just answered her post too.

It is so much easier when you have someone to diet with so that one of you isn't eating what the other one can't. You are there for support for each other and that's great. The best of luck to you both.

Welcome to you and your partner --

Read the book - yes, it's important! Atkins isn't a "diet" in the sense of going on and loosing weight, then stopping....Atkins is a lifetime way of eating.

A few tips to help get you started: Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water daily (nothing added), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin - these are mandatory with Atkins so start now and get off on the right foot. Also, start a journal, it's a great place to get everything out in the open, be accountable to yourself - you'll also meet some great people there! http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...journal-chats/

          Good luck to you!
