  • It's been a while!!! HAVE A QUESTION!

    Hi Guys!

    Long time no see for the board!!!!!!!!!! Sorry I have been on hiatus. I just needed to get some things underway. I am in my third week and have lost 8 lbs so far. I was wondering....is it normal to feel the occasional bout of nausea???? I was just about to make my dinner and I am quite hungry and I was three bites into my salad ready to puke....any insights???

    In your third week... no.

    How many calories are you consuming?

    How many net carbs from vegetables?

    How much water?

    And eat regular meals. Don't wait until you get super hungry.

      HMMm....I am definitely okay with the net carbs. I am eating the identical menu from when I did atkins last time and that's when i lost weight like a fiend.

      I feel like on the weekend, though i didn't cheat, i could have been kicked out of ketosis and that's why i am nauseous?

      Sometimes I get dizzy right before i drop a lot of weight...

        That doesn't mean it's the right menu for you now.

        Why not post what you're eating?

          True.

          I usually have eggs and a coffee in the morning. Lunch is usually a salad or a soup and dinner I have red meat and greens. I drink tea throughout the day so I should be having more water on top of that but I probably have ten cups of tea.

            Way too much tea. Tea is 0.7 net carbs per 8 ounces ... and it doesn't count as water.

            Doesn't seem as if you're really eating enough food ... but you didn't give quantities or net carbs.

              If you didn't cheat and stayed within the Induction guidelines, there is no reason why you would have been kicked out of ketosis. Do you believe anything you ate could have done it?

              Regardless, even if you ate one carbier meal or something, you should not have the symptoms of Induction flu after 3 weeks of Atkins.

              I agree that there seems to be not enough food and too much tea in that menu you posted.

                  welcome back Katie -- hope you are feeling better soon....has anyone around you had the flu or could you be catching a cold?

                  Drink the recommended amount of water in place of all the tea you've been drinking, maybe the tea is bothering you. Hope you get it figured out soon!!

                    Each time I did Atkins, during the first few weeks, I would always have this "feeling" in my gut. It felt something like butterflies, but worse. They have since subsided, but I've always thought it was weird, but at the same time, I knew if I felt that sensation, I was doing something right.
