  • Starting Tomorrow...

Hi! I signed up here a few weeks ago, because I knew I was going to start Atkins again. I started it in 2006 when I was at a weight of 250. I got down to 200 and slowly started adding carbs...until I was back where I started with eating loads of carbs. I have been slowing gaining. I quit smoking in July 2009 (after smoking about a pack a day for about 16 years) and have notice the weight creeping on even faster. Now I am back to fluctuating between 245 and 250 and am finally ready to face reality.

I'm going food shopping after work today to fill the fridge with Induction friendly foods. I will be reviewing the book tonight and this weekend as well.

I look forward to all the support on this site, as well as the plethora of information, tricks, suggestions, recipes, etc. I have access to on here!

              Hi Lori -

I ope you have the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) book - it's the version we follow here. Eat only foods listed on the acceptable food list and eat a variety of foods and vegetables. (Atkins Diet Induction FAQs) http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/77558-atkins-diet-induction-faqs.html.

A few more tips to help get you started: Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water daily (nothing added), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin - these are mandatory with Atkins so start now and get off on the right foot. Also, start a journal, it's a great place to get everything out in the open, be accountable to yourself - you'll also meet some great people there! http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...journal-chats/.

I stopped smoking a couple years ago and feel so much better (I never thought I'd ever say that I had stopped OR that I actually DID feel better - but it's true). After I stopped everyone said food would taste better....but I kept looking for something that just tasted good....I tasted my way to adding on 20 pounds - then decided it was time to make some changes in my life - including Atkins.

To make sure you don’t become bored by eating the same thing over and over look at these wonderful recipe sites – we have such great choices for menu ideas, eat a variety of things:
