Hello everyone. I have been lurking for the last week. Quietly inspired by all of you and recognizing so many things in myself that I did not realize were so common.
I resisted the urge to join because I am not that overweight. I thought that might be offensive to some. However, my Mom is quite heavy and I see me having similar symptoms. Everytime I climb up even 10 or 20 lbs I completely run out of energy and I am shaky and tired all the time. I have watched my precious Mom struggle with that for years and she feels like its hopeless (I am encouraging her as well). We both have small frames (underneath anyway) and I am much like her. Because of that I fight hard to keep my weight down.
What I need help with is stopping with all the dieting and beginning a new way of life. I am 30 years old now and I know if I keep up this yo yo I am setting myself up for big problems later. Also I want to set a good example for my kids. My son is doing great. He loves fruits and veggies and doesn't really like high carb stuff all that much. My 3 year old daughter is much like me. She loves it. Right now she is tiny and not at all overweight. She is perfect. I was that way all through childhood and highschool. I want to teach her good habits now so she won't end up with this struggle. I want to know what the balance is. How can I introduce this style of eating to the whole family without making any of them feel deprived?
Thank you for listening.
