  • Hi everyone.....!

    My name is Stephanie and I am new to the board.Atkin saved my life more than a couple of time where my eating habits finally was catching up to me.Everytime it took me less than 1 month to lose that 10-15 pounds that doesn't seem to want to go with anything else.

    Each time my body fat dropped at such a fast pace,I thought it was a miracle!I absolutly love the fact that we don't have to starve to achieve our goals.I love to eat and luckely for me I love meat.Carb I will eat and enjoy if there but to be honest I dont miss them when they have to go to get back to my ideal weight,110 pounds.Its not a vain thing believe me,I just wanna be able to fit in my clothes in the morning!!!And I do not enjoy the excess fat overlapping my jeans.

    I came to find my own little tricks and favorites,thats why im here to share it with you.

    To give you an hightlight,people have been having a hard time finding stuff to drink on Atkin,so did I until I started buying Aloe Vera Juice at a natural store.1%carbs only and it doesnt affect my diet AND its so good for you and as anti-aging properties.The taste take some use to but I kinda like it.

    So I hope I can help on giving some usefull information and enlight some of your questions.

    Welcome to the ADBB.

    How many times have you been on Atkins, and why did you go off?
    You didn't show any weight, height, goals, etc. in your signature...how much are you trying to lose?

    Do you drink any water?

    15# in a month, Wow, what is your secret? Please share.

      I love to eat and luckely for me I love meat.Carb I will eat and enjoy if there but to be honest I dont miss them when they have to go
      Carbs don't "have to go" on Atkins. We are eating plenty of vegetables, nuts, fruits... Definitely not a "no carb" diet.

        Sorry I ment refined carbs er white sugar,white flour,white rice and white bread.

        I am 5'7'' 120 wanna lose 10pounds...once again.Been on Atkin like 5 times and didnt stay on it cause I got too skinny on it if I stay too long.It just seem to happen to me every once and awhile to gain that 10-15 pounds.Thankfully I wont let it go further than 130 EVER.I go all out when i get close to that number.Start again.Maybe it would be good to just stay on it instead of doing this yo-yo thing.

            If you are loosing too quickly you should move to OWL and start add more food back into your daily meals -

            You say people have problems finding things to drink - you should be drinking a MINIMUM of 64 ounces pure water (not aloe juice) daily.

            Going on and off Atkins means you use it as a quick fix -- Atkins isn't that at all, it's a long term way of eating that will help you loose the weight and keep it off for a lifetime.

                Lily of the desert aloe vera juice pure liquid or gel(mix with water)at health store.

                NUTRITION FACT :sugars 0 g.The product is 99% pure aloe except for acid citrique and sorbate de potassium which is only 1%.

                Why you said its pure sugar?Woulnt they mention any source of sugar even natural?

                  The label I looked at had the carbs at 1.

                  I do apologize though ... I was getting aloe confused with something else.

                  It's still not water though!

                  And Atkins isn't a "quick fix" ... or a short term "diet" to lose 10 pounds!

                    Also the reason why i try not to stay on Atkin once I reach my goal is that alot of people say its not a good lifestyle long-term diet as it causes health issue.Are those statement have any truth to it?

                    Also,when I usually reach my goal and go off it I am still carefull about portion and what I do eat and usually dont gain back weight for another 3 years.All the time I did gain weight was from dating,eating out all the tie in those period and stress.Otherwise,Ive always been slim.

                              Please do not judge the way I use a diet
                              If you use Atkins as a quick fix, do not expect us to endorse it. You will receive by the book advice at ADBB (even if it might not always be what you want to hear)... and following Atkins "by the book" means not doing Induction until you reach goal and progressing through all the phases of the program.

                              But as J. wrote, you need to read the book if you want to understand why Atkins is a healthy lifestyle.
