  • Hello From Wyoming

My name is Cynthia, Cyn, I am a second timer on Atkins. In the early 2000's, lost around 80 lbs. I regained it, like lots of others after some life changing events, cancer, divorce, car accident.

Last Nov., I re-started Atkins ,seriously after reaching a weight of over 232 lbs. I was so depressed, newly married to a wonderful supportive man. I was told by the dr I was type 2 and was placed on meds for blood pressure, etc. I was miserable and in poor health mentally and physically. I hopped on the Atkins wagon again..I have lost over 80 lbs. and am now sitting at 155.

I am a member of a couple of atkins forums and have found the support encouraging and it keeps me modivated. It also helps since I am the only one in the household that eats lc. My wonderful DH is thin with a super metabolism, not a problem for him.

Since being back on Atkins, no meds. My blood sugar is wonderful. I also take no meds for my blood pressure. My asthma is under control and I also have recently (2 months) quit smoking!

I am hoping to met alot of others who have restarted atkins. I need the motivation. I had a goal of 155, and met it. But, I'd like to drop another 10 and to do that I need to get "charged" up again and energized.

Hi Cynthia, and welcome to ADBB. We have a whole forum for STACers (Second Time Around Club) and since you are so close to goal you may want to check out the Maintenance thread since many maintenance issues are going to hit home with you too.
