  • Hello

Hi everyone. I am a 35 year old mother of three wonderful kids ages 7,4, and 18mths. I am happily married to my high school sweetheart who thinks I'm beautiful at any weight but supports my efforts completely. I lost extra weight I had put on after I got married following Atkins in 2001. It came off effortlessly and I always assumed it would be that easy to lose weight whenever I needed to i.e after having babies. Not so. I have given it a go a few times over the last 8 years (after the birth of the first two) and never stuck with it. I'm not at an unhealthy weight but I don't feel like me. I'm 5'5" and I just hit 140lbs which is an all time high for me. I've been eating so much junk and I just knew if I didn't get control I was going to be in a dynamic weight gain phase. So, I committed to a clean induction on December 10th and so far I've lost 5lbs and I'm feeling great. I don't have any cravings and the induction flu only lasted one day. I'm running about 2mi per day and I'm drinking as much water as I can, which is probably about 50oz. per day. I feel confident that I will be able to get down to my goal weight of 120lbs. I look forward to "meeting" you.

You know from your reading of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (20020, that the MINIMUM is 64 ounces, right?

      Re: Hello

Yes, I do, but I've always been someone who drinks very little. Right now, I'm drinking more water than I ever have before so I'm good with it. If I drink anymore I'll be miserable and I don't think that being miserable is conducive to sticking to a diet plan. I'll increase it when I can.

        Re: Hello

Warm welcome aboard and congrats on your good start! Nice to have you here with us.

Many of us take a "sipper" bottle of water around with us and just have the odd sip now and again. It's surprising how it mounts up, without you feeling you're drowning yourself.

        Happy losing!
