  • Here again!

Hi all! I am here starting Atkins again, this time for the last time. I am at my highest weight ever and with diabetes and HBP in my family, a change needs to be made. Plus, I am so tired of being uncomfortable in my own skin. I'm tired of pulling on and readjusting my clothes so they aren't sticking to me or showing my fat rolls.

I'm ready to be thin and healthy and happy with myself!

Good Luck to everyone else on this journey and I look forward to learning from all of you,

    Melly

      Hi Melly!!

Glad you found your way back to Atkins!
Whatever you did before, or what you read other people are doing is the past. Your body is different than anyone so it’s best not to compare - just follow the plan the way it's written. Look around and find what interests you and join in. Check the STAC Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet for additional support.

I hope you already have the 2002 DANDR book and have read it, it is the edition we follow on this site. If not it's worth a few dollars to purchase. Drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water daily, exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin – these are mandatory when following Atkins.

Check this page for answers to a lot of your questions: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/77558-atkins-diet-induction-faqs.html. Make sure you are eating enough vegetables – Atkins isn’t just meat and cheese – vegetables are a huge part of your daily menu and is where most of your carbs should be coming from.

The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out!

        Re: Here again!

        Welcome back to Atkins.

If the vanity issues are not enough to stay here, the health issues are. And the good news is, incremental weight loss can often lead to lowering of hypertension and diabetes. I'm living proof. During early Atkins, I was amazed at my progress during the first few months. It was enough to spur me on.

So stick around. Share you success. Ask your questions. Encourage others. READ DANDR 2002 and re-read it as often as you need to. It has a plan for success in Dr. Atkins own words, it answers questions and offers encouragement.

Hope to see you around sharing your progress!
